The idea of being single, in your 20s, and living in New York City has carried a romantic allure that has been passed on through generations. The thing is, I am pretty sure this idea sprung from a time that knew not of dating apps.
I’m not above them, in fact, I am all up in them, literally. I have been on pretty much any dating app you can name, and find some sort of strange pleasure in just seeing what people will say. I found myself the other night, looking through missed conversations and connections past on a nostalgic trip down dating app lane.
I laughed, I cried, and I definitely cringed at least once a minute. Regardless, some opening lines were simply too good not to share. So without further ado, I give you 16 of the worst (best) openers I have ever received, and what my responses might be now that I am all the wiser (as if).
